Profitable Search Engine Optimization - 5 Ways to Advance in Search Engine Optimization

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

Though there are so many traffic-generating techniques that have been introduced in the World Wide Web in the last couple of years, the best source of traffic is still the search engines. That is why it of utmost importance that you know how to optimize your site to improve your search engine ranking that can result to more traffic.

1. Initiate link campaigns. Identify your potential link partners and request for reciprocal linking. To make this work best for you, identify the topics that are closely relevant to yours. For example, if you are running a website about reading glasses, you can link to sites that talks about ophthalmology, eye disorders and vision problems, designer eye glasses, etc.

2. Understand each search engines algorithm. Giant search engines like Yahoo! Google and MSN have different requirements in ranking websites. Knowing these requirements and properly applying Hemet Bar on your website will guarantee your secure spots on these search engines.

3. Use Meta tags. To help web crawlers to properly categorize and index your site, make sure that you provide descriptions of your web content.

4. Create a link to me page. Let your visitors know that you are looking for potential link partners and guide them in contacting you should they decide to link with you. Before you grant them reciprocal linking, check their websites to see if it is a great source of information and if your visitors will benefit from it. Also check its search engine ranking and the date it was established. The longer its existence in the World Wide Web, the better.

5. Use Google toolbar. This will help you to easily track the traffic rank and popularity of your website.

Marketing and Advertising Designs

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Ask most small business owners the best way to improve sales of their products or services, and you will probably hear a wide range of responses: “Reduce the prices,” “Increase your advertising,” “Improve service” and so on. One unlikely reply, however, would be: “Conduct some marketing research.” While marketing research has been a driving force in large companies for years, small businesses have been reluctant to use it. Marketing research can be the key to future success for many small businesses if the buyer or user of the research understands its parameters, strengths and limitations. Failure to conduct and use marketing research correctly result in catastrophe.

What Is Marketing Research?

Businesses of all sizes are constantly seeking information about their customers, their competitors and the market environment in which they operate. Marketing research is basically the gathering of this data. However, all “gathering of information” does not qualify as marketing research. The American Marketing Association defines marketing research as the “systematic and objective approach to gathering marketing information which - when processed, analyzed and interpreted - will help identify problems and opportunities that allow for better-informed, lower-risk decisions.” The key to this definition is that the information is gathered, processed, analyzed and interpreted in a systematic and objective fashion. Marketing research stresses how the information is obtained and evaluated as much as what is actually gathered.

At first thought, it might not seem too difficult to obtain marketing information. For example, the owner of a video store might ask some customers whether they would rent more movies if the price were reduced by one dollar. Using this feedback, the owner might decide to reduce the price, thereby increasing the number of rentals and, overall, making more money. Unfortunately, the people queried may not be typical of all customers. Even if the owner were lucky enough to talk to a representative sample, how does s/he know that the customers are telling the truth or that they will, in fact, rent more movies? This instance of collecting marketing information lacks the objectivity and uniformity necessary to be classified as marketing research. The owner in this case may actually lose money by acting upon it.

Contextual Advertisements And Internet

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

As the number of web users is on a rise, advertising in web media is found to be very effective compared to other types of advertisements. An Advertisement in web media can generate more results as the advertised product can be found easily by clicking on the link advertised. The conversion time is less in a web advertisement.

Google Adwords provides an excellent opportunity to advertise your product or service easily and effectively. This program works as a contextual advertisement program and feeds the publisher websites with the right kind of advertisement related to their content. Google Adwords works in conjunction with Google Adsense. While the former is related to Advertiser, the latter is related to Publishers. A publisher who sign up for a Google Adsense program receives a JavaScript ad code to be pasted into his website where he wants to get the advertisements displayed. Every time this web page is accessed, the advertisement is displayed based on the content currently the web page contains. The payment is deducted from the advertiser’s account only in case a click thru is happening from the publisher’s web site. For this reason, it is also know Pay Per Click or PPC advertisement program. This program is safe guarded against click fraud by implementing various monitoring measures. This is the most effective way to generate sales from your website.

Providing Text links as advertisement also helps the advertiser in two ways. It can bring you more traffic from click thru and links serve helps search engine to identify your web site and crawl it.

Marketing 101: Give Clients What They Want

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Are your giving your clients what they want? Do you know what your clients want from a business like yours more than anything else in the world? If you knew the answer to this question would you market your small business differently?

Most small businesses seem to fall in to one of two camps on this issue. A small number create a product or service based on something that they really want to do, but they really have no idea if anyone would ever want it. A much larger majority tends to have some general knowledge in a particular area, but what they communicate is so broad and vague that they end up reactively taking whatever business they can get through the door.

I’m blown away when I ask someone what it is that their clients value most from their services and they don’t know. If you don’t know what your clients want, then how can you ever hope to provide great services to them?

Take some steps to position your business for success that others in your field just can’t generate.

First of all, I do think you should determine what it is that you do best.

* What are you committed to and totally passionate about?

* What are you out to cause?

* Who do you want to help and what do you want to help them get done?

If you love what you’re doing it makes the game of business a whole lot more enjoyable.

Figure out what it is that your target market would love to have more than anything in the world from a business like yours.

* What are their greatest challenges and issues that your company could get involved in helping them overcome?

* What is the greatest result or outcome you could ever hope to deliver to your ideal clients?

* If time and money weren’t an issue, what service would you offer that would consistently produce the greatest possible outcomes?

Take some time to carefully consider and write out your answers to these steps and questions offered above. You may not know all the answers, but do the best you can. Then call up a handful of your best clients and a couple of your most trusted business contacts. Offer to buy them lunch and then sit down to talk through what you’ve come up with to get their input.

Sometimes if you want to know what people want, you just gotta ask. But, your conversation will go deeper and you’ll get better results when you do it with your thoughts already outlined.

Once you know what your clients want, you can begin aligning your service offerings and developing your core marketing messages around that. And suddenly marketing becomes easier.

How To Implement A Winning Marketing Strategy To Your Advantage!

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

A Marketing strategy is crucial if you want to really succeed in your marketing. Amongst its advantages are:

1. Helping you to focus your marketing attention.

2. Better complete utilization of resources

3. Helps in increasing sales; and

4. A powerful resource of winning over your competitors.

Every company applies some kind of marketing strategies to maintain existing customers, attract potential customers and also to maintain and enhance their reputation in the market.

When designing a marketing plan, first a marketing strategy is taken into consideration. The marketing plan consists of steps to be taken so as to attain success in the implementation of the marketing strategy chosen. Big projects involve selection of different strategies at different levels. Usually a strategy consists of well-sketched tactics. They are meant to meet the needs and finally reach marketing objectives.

Each of the strategies has pre-calculated results because when a particular strategy is chosen at a particular level, its outcome becomes the goal of that particular level. If there is an absence of a well thought out strategy in a marketing plan it means it is supposedly lacking a good foundation. A reasonable marketing strategy should not only facilitate marketing goals, but also the action sequence of a campaign.

At regular time intervals the firm should analyze the marketing decision. This is done with the help of strategic models. The 3C’s model is usaully considered for this purpose. The 3C’s model determines the factors, which leads to the success of a marketing campaign.

There are three key parties involved in this model. These are:

>>> The corporation

>>> The customer; and

>>> The competitors.

The involvement of all the three key parties leads to positive results and this involvement is known as the 3C’s or strategic triangle.

The role of the corporation is to increase the strength of the company in the success critical areas, when compared to that of the competitor. The customer and his interest form the basis of any strategy. The competitor also plays a vital part. The competitor-based strategies are based on the functioning of business competitors like design and engineering, sales and servicing, and purchasing.

When making a marketing plan some particular strategies known as mix strategies are used. 4P’s model is used to calculate whether the plan is sticking to the strategies or not.

The four Ps stand for product, price, place and promotion. Products are goods produced by the company on a huge scale for the purpose of selling them and earning profit. Price is the money paid for a product by the customer. The price is based on many factors like competition, market share, customer perception and product identity. Place where the product is sold can be either physical store or store on the Internet. It is also known as distribution channel. To make the customer knowledgeable about a product, the marketer does promotion. It involves advertising, public relation and point of sale.

There are different types of marketing strategies based on some criteria. Some of the common marketing strategies are:

1. Market dominance strategies - Market dominance strategies are used to dominate the market. Examples of these are Challenger, Leader and Follower.

2. Porter generic strategies - Porter generic strategies are built on strategic strength or competing abilities and strategic scope or market penetration. Cost leadership, Market segmentation and Product differentiation are types of porter generic strategies.

3. Innovation strategies - Innovation strategies are meant to trigger the rate of product development and model innovation. It helps you as a business to incorporate latest technologies. Close followers, late follower and Pioneers are types of innovation strategies.

4. Growth strategies - Growth strategies facilitate the growth of the organization. Intensification, Diversification, Vertical integration and Horizontal integration are types of growth strategies.

5. Marketing warfare strategies are conjunction of marketing strategies and military strategies.

A marketing strategy or a mix of them is chosen only after thorough market research. A marketer should always be ready to face any kind of situations like if the strategy is changed in the middle, he should be able to perform another market research so as to choose the proper strategy, within a short period of time. This can be done easily if you have the experience.

Internet Marketing - Making Google AdWords Work for Your Business

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

People often ask me, “I started an AdWords campaign, but have no idea how many clicks I’m going to get, what it’s going to cost, or what’ kind of cost-per-click (CPC) I should be looking for. So, let’s say I have a product that gets me a $25 profit. What should that CPC be?”

Want to know what I say? “Oh, $24.99, but that’s only if you’re getting 100% conversion.” That’s not going to happen in the Internet marketing-verse, right off the bat, though is it? So, what should you be willing to spend? What are you willing to just take a flush down the drain. Doesn’t that make sense?

Maybe it does and maybe it doesn’t because you’re new to Internet Marketing and to AdWords. But we can make this more clear. When it comes to AdWords, you have to decide how much your business can afford to lose every day, and for how many days, until AdWords becomes profitable.

Some of you are probably thinking, I can’t afford to waste a dime. If that’s true, then you shouldn’t be messing around with Google AdWords. You can find many other ways to advertise in the Internet marketing world, and many of them are free. Wait until you have some financial traction to start with Google AdWords, unless you have set a specific budget for that form of traffic.

Yet, let’s figure that you can spend something, though still not able to flush down hundreds of dollars per day. You have to come up with that figure based on your advertising budget for your Internet marketing business. Just visualize yourself taking a bill out of your pocket and stuffing it into the garbage disposal. What would that bill be? Is it $50 a day, or only $5 a day? It’s up to you. Whatever that amount is, set your daily AdWords budget at that level.

Remember, the lower the amount, the fewer the impressions you’ll get and the fewer potential click-throughs. You may not have enough potential to see your ad circulated enough to get clicks, and it may be hard to see how well your ad is doing. So, take that about, let’s just say it’s $20. You can waste $20 a day, but you only waste $5, right? So, that’s an extra $15 a day that you didn’t waste. For the next 7 days, raise your daily limit to $20 for the next 7 days, and see what happens.

You need to find a sweet spot, where your ad is being circulated and you’re getting clicks, and it takes time. You have to keep tweaking to make it profitable. If you don’t have Perry Marshall’s ebook, The Definitive Guide to AdWords, I’d encourage you to get it, and apply what you learn, too.

This may seem like a non-definitive answer, but it’s just the truth. Only spend what your Internet marketing business can afford and not a penny more. Once your campaign is working, you’re thrilled, and it could happen quickly, though it usually takes a while. It could take a year. That’s just the deal. It all depends on how quickly you’re willing to make changes and move on, and you can never get depressed or feeling negative about things. You have to move on.

That’s the key to success. You can never give up on something, and at the same time, you can’t afford to overextend your Internet Marketing business to the point where it goes under or you’re trying to pay off credit card debt because you didn’t understand the system. Use some conservative actions, and plan your AdWords campaigns with common sense.

Tips to Get a Google AdSense Account

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

To whom it may not familiar with AdSense, It is a Google’s marketing program which allows website/blog owners to generate income from displaying relevant Google ads on their websites. AdSense matches the content of the website to ads within their AdWords program and displays the relevant ads on the website. The website owners will get income from their website visitors clicking the ads. And there are some success stories from people who profiting and earning thousand dollars from Google AdSense.

So how you can get those kinds of ads displayed in your website? Basically you have to register you website/blog and get Google’s approval. But unfortunately not every request will get approved. I have a tip for you based on my experience obtaining approval from Google in my first try, here are the steps:

1. Set up your blog with www.blogspot.com. Blogspot is a Google own blogging service. Make a certain theme for your blog and make sure that the theme is a marketable theme.

2. Put several relevant contents to your blog. Google loves contents! If you choose “health” as your theme, then you can write anything about health. But let me remind you, you have to write them in English. If you think you can’t write and not really confident with your English, don’t worry about that. You can find relevant contents in free articles directory such GoArticles.com and Ezinearticles.com but don’t delete the author names and their links (usually available at the bottom of the articles). Don’t take credit on their works.

3. If you have put some relevant contents, wait about two or three days. When you edit the layout or format of your blog, it will appear an offer from Google to apply for Google AdSense account. If the offer does not appear, just visit www.google.com/adsense and register there. Believe me, your AdSense account approval will send to your email address in several days that you start make money with Google AdSense.
